What is YAC-AZ?

The Youth Action Council of Arizona (YAC-AZ) mission is to encourage the empowerment of youth with and without disabilities in an all inclusive environment through education and community involvement in all aspects of change and advocacy.

Who can join YAC-AZ?

Everyone is welcome to be part of YAC-AZ. All they need to have is a willingness to learn about the issues that affect youth with disabilities and a desire to become a leader within the community.

How does YAC-AZ empower youth? 

YAC-AZ empowers youth by providing education on programs and resources for  youth 20150905_143318 within their communities. YAC-AZ also promotes self advocacy and self-determination through mentoring and workshops.

How often do YAC-AZ youth get together?

Members meet once a month on the first Saturday of each month to explore  disability related issues. Meetings are usually held at the Disability Empowerment Center 5025 E. Washington, Phoenix, AZ 85034


Does it cost money to be part of YAC-AZ? 

It is absolutely free to be part of YAC-AZ!  In order to pay for special events, YAC-AZ members may participate in small fund raising events.


Do YAC-AZ members have fun?  

Absolutely!  YAC-AZ members participate in fun events such as bowling, dinners, and movies as well as community service activities.  Free to all YAC-AZ members who
participate in monthly meetings.
